This is a Christmas gift to me from my brother so it'll be wrapped till Christmas. worth seeing Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 21, 2018 Verified Purchase Seen this classic before many years ago. Good story format. Very gripping jumpy horror compared to some over rated, types I've seen. Decent cast and acting okay 3. 0 out of 5 stars A K A the Tooth Fairy Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 23, 2020 Verified Purchase This one was a pleasant surprise. Nothing more than your run of the mill cursed ghost story, but it is made with some thought and well performed.

If you see her she comes after you with a vengeance and the only way to survive is to stay in the light. Director Johnathan Liebesman of Texas Chainsaw massacre the beginning gets a lot of milage out of the concept and has fun with it. There's lots of clever and silly gags that work surprisingly well. It's a rocket paced funhouse of a movie packed with thrills and chills. So don't overthink it because the makers certainly didn't. Turn off your brain and have a surprisingly fun time. Budget: $11m Domestic Box Office: $33m Worldwide Box Office: $47m 4. 25/5 Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2019 Verified Purchase A decent horror film from 2003. You can certainly do worse. Kyle survives a brush with the tooth fairy as a kid. The tooth fairy is a cursed ghost you. Takes your teeth too. The tooth fairy's only weakness is light, any light. As an an adult, Kyle suffers from mental problems and carries around flashlights everywhere he goes. No one believes him about the tooth fairy of course.

Bottom line, this is a failed movie, recommended only to the most rabid Emma Caulfield fans. I gave away my DVD immediately after watching it. AVOID! 4. 0 out of 5 stars Nightmares Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 31, 2012 Verified Purchase I first watched this film when i was about 10 and even 8 years on it results in many night hiding under the duvet. The film is essentially a twisted tale of the toothfairy but instead of taking your tooth and leaving money, she takes your life instead. Whilst being original, the film is actually quite scary with many jumps and scares throughout. Although now ive watched it at a mature age, its not the night terror causing movie i once thought it to be. Overall a good horror movie but there are better out there althought for a low price such as this its worth the investment. Avoid showing it the young children 5. 0 out of 5 stars... years ago and it truly scared me which isn't easy as I Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 22, 2016 Verified Purchase I saw this film years ago and it truly scared me which isn't easy as I watch horror films alot.

A local legend tells about a disfigured woman, a lonesome widow, who liked to give town's children gifts and gold coins when they lost a tooth, thus earning her the name "Tooth Fairy". One day however she was wrongly accused of murder and lynched - but not before swearing vengeance and putting a curse upon the town. Legend has it that her dark spirit visits children on the night they lose their last baby tooth. However, should any person see her when she visits, they put themselves in great danger - and one day Kyle Walsh (Chaney Clay), a local teenager, realizes VERY clearly that the legend is not just a fable... The film really begins when Kyle, after many years spend out of town, returns (very reluctantly) to Darkness Fallss, summoned by Caitlin Greene (Emma Caulfield), on whom he used to have a major crush as a teenager. He is not happy about coming back and the town folks are not happy to see him either... I will not say more about the plot. I don't watch too many horrors, but I don't detest to see one from time to time and I like to pick those less known, as it is possible to find amongst them very watchable things, like "Dead Birds" or "Vanishing on 7th street" and occasionally even a real pearl, like "The Dyatlov Pass Incident".

It's formuliac. It's predictable. The acting isn't the best. It has little depth. The rasping gets to me after awhile. But there's something about how simultaneously compact, efficient, effective, and comprehensive this movie is that hooked me. I thought the pacing was very well done. And there's also something weirdly comforting about how predictable it is. I also appreciate that it delivered chills without a gorefest or a lot of nekkidness. As far as jump scares, yes there are some in here - but not all jump scares are bad (or lazy film making). There were a couple that I could have done without, but mostly they seemed to fit into this ghoul's MO, which is to stay in the dark and sweep in and out quickly to avoid the light. Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2017 Verified Purchase This is an awesome movie about fighting the one thing we were all afraid of at one point and some still are.. The darkness. It's about a guy who's scared of the dark and has been since he was a kid, but for good reason, there's something in the dark that almost took him.

Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2018 Verified Purchase I saw this movie at the theater and I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. It reminded me of the old time horror movies before the days of slash/porn junk they release now. Creaking sounds, door knobs turning in the dark - the suspense was amazing and the special affects were well done. I bought this movie on dvd the day it came out and I was very pleased with the sound and picture. The combination of sight and sound in some scenes gave me chills. I have been looking forward to it coming out on blu ray and was about ready to give up when I read that it was being released shortly and I got it as soon as I could. I was not disappointed because the audio and video were excellent. If you don't require torture and blood and filthy language to enjoy a horror movie, then this is right up your alley. Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2018 Verified Purchase I shouldn't like this movie this much.
